POSITION SUMMARY
To perform daily routine cleaning operations and project cleaning in assigned areas of responsibility. To provide the necessary operational requirements for the set-up and take-down of equipment and fixtures for, community events, conferences, meetings and other special activities.

- Performs all duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintains good relations with the public and staff
- Performs all safe work practices following prescribed chemical and equipment operation, storage and handling processes and procedures for personnel protection.
- Follows prescribed work schedule and performs designated daily, weekly and project cleaning processes and procedures in all assigned areas.
- Operates and provides for the general maintenance & upkeep of all assigned custodial equipment .
- Requisitions through the Lead Custodian the necessary equipment, chemicals and supplies to maintain the cleanliness, safety and security of the building and grounds (playgrounds, entrances, sidewalks, etc.) at all times.
- Performs all assigned operational requirements for the preparation, operation, and clean-up of Student, Faculty, Staff, Community Activities, and Academic Events.
- Prepares and submits work orders for corrective maintenance repairs to the Lead Custodian for the maintenance and upkeep of the building, equipment and grounds.
- Inspects daily the exterior entrances, sidewalks and steps for snow accumulation and takes the necessary corrective action during the winter months.
- Inspects and cleans daily the exterior entrances, sidewalks, steps and surrounding grounds area for debris and trash.
- Submits time records, absence sheets, vacation requests and other reports required by the Operations Department and participates in the monthly inspections of the buildings and grounds.
- Assists in receiving incoming shipments, moving fixtures and furniture.
- Checks Livingston ESA assigned email account daily.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Two years of related experience preferred.

The employee would be trustworthy and able to provide high quality custodial services. Maintaining a good attendance record and being punctual is essential for success. Effective time management skills are a necessity.
EVALUATION
Performance for this position will be evaluated on an annual basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. Must have adequate health and physical condition to handle heavy manual tasks, ability to hear the conversational voice, or with a hearing aid as required; ability to speak and to be understood, under normal circumstances; ability to lift & carry items weighing up to 80 lbs and the ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and use a personnel man-lift
