Student Support Assistant (This position will be "hired" through the contracted agency, Edustaff)


**Summary:**
This position supports McKinney-Vento students and families across five Livingston
County public school districts, ESA, and four charter schools, as well as students in the
Livingston WAY+ program. The assistant will work with the Student Service Specialist
and Director for Alternative and Adult Education to provide student services,
communication, outreach, data collection, and reporting.

 

**Qualifications:**
- High School graduate (College experience preferred)

 

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Assist McKinney-Vento Coordinator with required federal program guidelines and
requirements.
- Collaborate with District Liaisons to provide student services.
- Review grades and attendance for McKinney-Vento eligible students and discuss with
the Grant Coordinator to determine if additional resources are needed.
- Organize, coordinate, and operate McKinney-Vento events/programs.
- Track and communicate WAY student progress on a weekly basis, and keep student
files up-to-date.
- Work with the Director to create a Monthly Newsletter for WAY students and parents.
- Communicate and organize other WAY events, and assist with field trips.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Understanding of issues surrounding young people and their education.
- Presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills through various technologies.

 

**Schedule:**
- 15-20 hours per week from August 1-June 30, 5-10 hours per week July 1-30th.

 

**Salary/Benefits:**
- $18 per hour, no benefits.

 

**Position:**
- This is a contracted position through Edustaff.
